BEST BAKED BRUSSELS SPROUTS W/ BUTTERY CAPERS & CARAMELIZED ONIONS

Ingredients:
1 lb of brussels sprouts
2 tbsp avocado oil
1 tbsp honey mustard (I used Primal Kitchen Foods)
1 tbsp coconut aminos
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
black pepper to taste

 

Directions:
1. Preheat over to 400F.

2. Trim the stems of the sprouts and cut in half. 

3. Toss in avocado oil, brown mustard, coconut aminos, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Let it sit for 20 minutes for the best flavor.

4. Bake for 30-35 minutes flipping halfway through.

For the capers: Sautée 1/2 c capers in 1 tsp butter for 3-4 minutes. It’s SO YUM on top of Brussels sprouts.

For the onion: Cut up one red onion, sprinkle with salt, and sautée in EVOO over medium-low heat for 10 minutes.
